APHA 2017- Atlanta, GA

Greg had a great time attending the American Public Health Association (APHA) 2017 Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA!  Greg presented research with his colleagues from the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion.

Here’s Greg and Eugene Brusilovskiy presenting research comparing environmental predictors of community participation of individuals with and without serious mental illnesses:

And here we are with Laysha Ostrow, CEO of Live & Learn, Inc., a California-based, consumer-run, and woman-owned social enterprise that provides research, technical assistance, and knowledge translation services to behavioral health system stakeholders.

Check out all this cool conference swag!

2017 SCRA Biennial Conference in Ottawa

The Community Inclusion Research Group had a great time at the 2017 Society for Community Research and Action Biennial Conference in Ottawa!

Amy, Rachel, and Greg presented research examining community inclusion and supportive housing of individuals with serious mental illnesses.

Rachel and Katricia both presented posters. Katricia’s poster focused on well-being and sense of community among homeless youth, and Rachel’s poster presented a systematic review of community mental health research published in the American Journal of Community Psychology and Journal of Community Psychology.

Greg was a discussant for a symposium about Housing First in Canada, and he got to reconnect with friends and colleagues from his work on the At Home/ Chez Soi project.

And we were excited to get to spend time with former CIRG member, Camilla Cummings, who is now pursuing a PhD in Clinical-Community Psychology at DePaul and working with Dr. Molly Brown!
